About the Brand
Bille Wes is an independent clothing label rooted in Northern California. Founded on a deep respect for material, craft, and history, the brand transforms found and vintage textiles into one of a kind garments that bridge past and present.
Each piece is individually handmade, primarily from fabrics dating from the 1940s to today. What once were scraps, offcuts, and forgotten materials are thoughtfully reconstructed into enduring forms, most often jackets that balance utility with artful design.
Guided by a commitment to sustainability and timelessness, Bille Wes rejects the disposable nature of fast fashion. Every garment carries the marks of its making, a story of movement, memory, and renewal.
Fragments of the past, reimagined by hand.
Timeless. Singular. Yours.
About Me
I was born and raised in Minnesota, always drawn by the urge to move, to see, and to create. After earning my BFA in Fine Arts, where I focused on sculpture and building interactive, tactile pieces, I followed that pull out into the world.
For years, I traveled across the country farming, building earth homes, herding sheep, tanning hides, and teaching children. I spent time on communes and in shared artist spaces, surrounded by people who made beauty from what others left behind. Along the way, I began collecting small pieces of fabric, blankets, and forgotten materials, each one carrying a trace of place and time.
In borrowed studios and friends' homes, I started to sew. Over time, these fragments came together to form something new. I realized that creating garments was another form of sculpture, shaping movement, memory, and material into something living.
Now settled in Northern California, I create as Bille Wes, crafting each garment by hand from vintage and reclaimed textiles gathered from the 1940s to today. Every piece carries its own history, thoughtfully shaped into something timeless and enduring.

Scraps, offcuts, and remnants transformed into something lasting.
Every garment is a quiet rebellion against the disposable.

Production
Every Bille Wes garment is designed, cut, and sewn by me, one at a time, in my Northern California studio. I work carefully with vintage and reclaimed textiles, often piecing together fabrics collected over decades, giving each piece a second life.
Because every fabric has its own history and every garment is constructed by hand, no two pieces are ever the same. Each jacket carries subtle variations in texture, color, and stitching — a reflection of the materials, the process, and the care poured into it.
